Game looks terrible in HDR on OLED

Washed out grey, too bright and not a lot of blacks. Easily one of the worst looking modern games I've played. I notice there are no gamma/brightness or HDR sliders anywhere so I used auto HDR settings to increase intensity but it didn't do much good. I'm still in the beginning mine area so maybe it improves but it's hard to feel immersed. Is this something on my end or does the game really look this ugly in HDR?

Don't use the auto HDR stuff use special K and set the HDR parameters yourself. Almost all the games I do this with end up looking amazing.

it feels a lot emptier than previous games other than redguard

Well, it will be your TV or monitor because on my HDR10 PQ16 TV with everything in ultra configuration it looks outrageous with a well-implemented HDR, my GPU is RX 6700 XT 12 GB.

They must've fixed it since launch then because it was anything but good looking. I doubt they got rid of all the obnoxious color filtering though.
