Anyone?

It's a DX12 game so there is no exclusive fullscreen. Make sure your desktop resolution is set to your monitor's native resolution for borderless fullscreen.

My desktop resolution is 1920x1080, I don't understand what that has to do with the game locking my resolution options to 720

I was suggesting that maybe your desktop resolution wasn't set properly. Check both GPU software and windows settings. You can edit an .ini file to set specific resolution if that doesn't solve it.

I have this same issue. Right-click on desktop, select Display Settings. It is set to `3840 x 1600 (Recommended)`. Yet, when I run Starfield, it is locked at `1280x720`!

I also tried modifying the StarfieldPrefs.ini with the below, but it doesn't change it.

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1440
iSize W=2560

the new update gives you the option to go fullscreen now...:-)

I'm running into this same problem. My native resolution is 3840 x 1600 but if I want full screen it defaults to 1280 x 720 and I cannot change. Editing the ini did nothing it just seems to ignore the resolution I put in. Windowed mode doesn't let me pick my native resolution either.

I had similar issues in Skyrim and Fallout but editing the ini mostly fixed it. I had hoped that since this is a new game there would be more support for Ultrawide monitors. They are popular among gamers.

The resolution in the settings only applies to windowed mode. In borderless full screen it uses whatever your desktop resolution is set to. The setting is even called "Window Size" and the description is "Sets the game resolution in windowed mode."

So, you own an ultrawide monitor, and are surprised that you can’t pick an ultrawide resolution in a game that doesn’t support ultrawide yet? Imagine that

If the game is in borderless it's running at your desktop res. Running a non standard desktop res just causes the menu to erroneously show 1280*720. It's still running at the desktop res.

What's your problem dagtag? why don't you cool out. Go take a nap or something.

I was explaining why they were encountering issues, something wrong with that?

The game doesn’t support ultrawide yet, so native resolution can’t be selected with an ultrawide monitor.

Whats your issue?

You're wrong and caustic. Not going to argue with an idiot.

“You’re wrong” isn’t exactly the holy grail of arguments you think it is…

Currently it doesn’t have proper ultrawide support, that is widely known
