First person view or 3'rd person?

I can't do 3'rd person view games...it's like watching my character play a game, I want to be IN the game. Also I find 3'rd person view klunky and disorienting.

I use both, I mostly play in 3rd person because I like to see my character, use both in combat, and search for loot in 1st person because I miss a lot of stuff when I search in 3rd person. My problem with playing only in 1st person is that without VR they can't simulate peripheral vision.

Hi,

I'm playing over on game pass, game just finished making my character and was excited for 3rd person.

However the character is not centered on my screen. Can I change this.

So far, I'm mostly 3rd person.

First person for combat looting etc, third person for most of everything else or if I need a peek a corner.

Gunplay in third person doesn't even feel good, player shoots at the wall despite visually not aiming at it.

I prefer 3rd and I’m happy that Starfield actually has a viable 3rd person view to use 24/7 out of the box (Skyrim’s and FO4’s werent and absolutely required various mods). It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than previous games’.

I prefer this view for any game where I actually can customize my character’s physical appearance and have plenty of clothing/weapon options because…why go through all the trouble of creating a character and wearing nifty clothes and armor if you don’t actually see it?

I like to swap back and forth, but the gameplay feels a little too clunky in 3rd person on this game.

For the moment only third person, it's great to see our character and the environment during a fight

In tight spaces it's best to swap to first-person, particularly indoors while hunting for tiny items.

Regardless, I mostly play third, because even in tight spaces I take my time and don't jump around.

The third-person camera does not function well indoors if you are in a rush and moving quickly.

Third person play: "I like playing with action figures."
Third person play with female avatar and jiggly physics CBBE mods: "I play with dolls."

Serious response: First person all the way...except contextually based stealth.
I don't know if it's the expanded view or the "situational awareness" of third person view, but it makes sense then. Limited first person is best used for cutscenes or survival play, IMO.
