edit: i think i used it 3-5 times in the first Vanguard mission alone
What's more important imo is to look at the next tiers to see what stuff you'd like to unlock later. A few points in maybe less useful skills now can pay off when you can get a very good skill in the next tier early on.
This is in spite of having conversations with a dozen badly wounded and sometimes on the verge of death people.
Worst background.
The carry capacity perk is great
And piloting so you can purchase the non dollar store parts
Honorable mention to weapon mod perk
I think that medicine perk is tier 1 science.
Helps out if you don’t want to play stealthy.
