BUG when boarding ships in space.

Hello there,

When I was travelling for a quest, I discovered several ships/stations with the possibility to interact with. For example the Almagest, or an unidentified ship.
Everything fine when I link with them, but as soon as I want to board in them, I've a very annoying bug.
My screen is stuck in the outer space, like if my charachter was 1st person, and I can't move. No background, and no possibility to return in my ship.
I could teleport, but after the fail boarding, everytime I try to land somewhere, I'm stuck under the ground or in space.

Loading saves / restarting games won't change a thing.

Th only way I could continue is to delete the last saves when I had the bug. I can now properly land on planet. But I'm affraid to try boarding ships again.

Is anyone encounter this bug ?

I've heard about this game-breaking bug too. It is currently the case that the bug is triggered when boarding ships. Some say it's when you board another ship, others say it's when you board the ship and get in the pilot's seat.

Anyway it breaks the game and you can't continue if you're stuck underground or in space

I hope it gets fixed quickly

Only way to reset this is to have a different save. And load one where you had not the bug yet.

I'll wait a bit before boarding something else ^^. Hoping it is not recquired for main quest.

I ran into this issue today, was seemingly able to fix it by fast traveling down to the surface of a planet and then when I landed, instead of exiting the ship I just got up from my chair and manually walked over to the exit hatch. everything seems to be working fine? hopefully this won't screw me over later

Have you try to board again or another ship ?

im doing the crimson feet quest and cant board the ship. even i have try to succeed boarding on other ship or land on a planet but still not able to board on the crimson feet ship(The Key). now im stuck on the mission due to this.

I've not had that bug personally. I've captured maybe 8 ships without issue. Was easier to capture with my older ship as my current one tends to blow them up a bit too fast.

Did you try to load a manual save before your boarding ? It was the only way to "Debug" the system to me.
After that, it should work.
I highly recommand you to not continue your game on the save you had the bug.

I believe I have this same bug. Here is a brief (?) summary and my work around which is similar to what is posted above.
Problem: I am trying to disable a ship as part of a mission to rescue a ship captain whose ship has been taken by pirates. After I disable the engines I dock with the ship. When I have a helper (latest one was Sarah) the companion seems to repeat her/himself about disabling the grav drive (every time I heard this glitch in the dialogue I encountered the bug). When I select Board ship (X on PC) All I can see is the area between the docked ships and I cannot control the screen at all.
Workaround: I reload the last event saved (usually the screen with option to board the ship). I undock the ship and go anywhere (I have jumped to another star system, I have landed at the nearest planet/moon or traveled to another place in the system. Then return to where I was before and reengage the pirated ship until I can dock - boarding then works.

This bug just started occurring to me too. I was doing the crimson fleet storyline and saved the game so i could side with the fleet and see what the ending what like, i completed the story and loaded back to tbe save and now when i try dock to the vigilance it won't let me board. I have tried landing on a planet and going back, still didn't work, ive tried switching ships, getting up and walking to the hatch (won't let me interact with hatch) ive even gone back to earlier saves hours and hours prior to the original save and it still won't let me board. Has anybody found any sort of solution?
