Outpost Power Generator uses too much Helium 3 | Power Generator useless
I just created my second outpost to gather Helium 3 and wanted to supply the outpost with energy with the help of a power generator. The generator needs one Helium 3 and I have built 2 extractors but the Helium 3 storage is still decreasing slowly! And yes, both extractors work.

Am I doing something wrong or is that intended? That power generator needs so much H3 that it is pretty much useless to build. Thinking of the Interlink Platform needing 5(!) H3 instead of just 1 in comparison to the generator, it seems kind of impossible to gather all that.

Also: does someone know what the outputs and inputs are? How much does an extractor mine per minute and how much does a generator/intercom platform need? I think there is still much to do when it comes to the informations given to the player.

Build robots to boost production! Just 2 H3 extractors can supply a power generator and some excess if you have 3 sanitation robots

So the OP is right, it is useless to build this generators. It is not "just" 2 extractors, it is "still 2 extactors, even if you boost them". So you need almost all of the produced energy for the extractors alone.

Ouch, that is not good.

I haven't checked for helium, but I do know there are 3 tiers of extractors you can build.

Bingo! The higher tier extractors are the answer!

I built two small he3 extractors powered by solar to power 1 generator to power both an industrial helium and an industrial aluminum extractors at once. this is my main he3 generator linked to the output of a cargo link sending both to my main outpost. i put in 50 he3 in the storage box next to the generator I made and it has not changed in amount but I am getting he3 in the output container of the cargo link, I am not sure how much he3 the generator consumes but it seems the rate in which both small extractors produce it is fine as long as it has a small amount of extra he3 in reserve

Early in playing I built a Helium 3 generator. I connected it to a storage of 150 or so Helium 3 I had collected. I came back like 45 minutes later and all of the Helium 3 was gone. SO consumption is for each minute that passes, just like production is each minute passing.

Now the one thing I had not considered at the time was the passage of time. Time passes faster and slower on some planets. This is why your wait and sleep shows local time and universal time. So the locations of outposts can make a big difference.

I found it much easier to just build reactors than melt my brain trying to figure out Bethesda math. Especially considering pirates drop most of the parts needed to build the reactors or you can visit vendors and just buy the parts. Industrial Outpost vendors are the best for the parts by the way.
