i just got the bug where my mantis ship disappeared from my inventory, pissed me off so bad i stopped playing today.
wanted to use it to get rid of all the contraband i have, it is gone no where to be found. i have a choice go back to a save and redo mission or live with it.
I just found a temporary solution: if you change home-ship label to a another one (for exemple, returning to the Frontier as home-ship), the "missing" material will be in the cargo of that ship... ;-)
[edit] ... at least it worked for most of the lost armors & weapons (100% sure for the boxes of previous ship. Not 100% sure for the display rack: I got back helmets and packs some guns were still missing).
WHERE IS THE DAMN QA???
Questions?
1. Was there no test cases written for the Razorleaf that might have included the armory?
2. Whom decided it was a good idea to let these tickets be waived or labeled as KS for one of the most iconic ships in the game?
3. Why was this issue probably considered an edge case?
4. If the weapons racks is considered part of the cargo hold mass, why not have a UI message indicating such?
5. If no fix was to be implemented why make the racks / weapons cases selectable?
Why interactive?
6. Were the weapons racks within the armory tested outside the Razorleaf interaction?
7. Cyberpunk 2077 had the same feature. It was buggy but not to this extent. The weapons rack was an independent storage. The armory in a ship couldn’t be seen as independent to the player because that wouldn’t make sense for the mass of the ship. We’re test cases created for armory interaction with Razorleaf cargo hold?
The game is enjoyable so far and the whole Mantis / Batman idea is awesome too. To see the armory was like a great first impression. To find out I lost my items because of lack of QA, inadequate tickets created, lack of a testing strategy, and overlooking the impact of this issue to users and probably seeing it as an “edge case” is horrible.
People lost some good items and in this day in age there shouldn’t be a “work around” for a AAA product of this caliber. I know there are decisions to pick and choose, but this was definitely an A level / P1 / SEV 1 issue. Players were losing their items. Must do better.
This is indeed a matter of a to-do list for a first patch. Should be quite easy to fix.
Going into building mode at a shipyard also "reset" any container and put everything back into the cargo (even if it exceed the maximum capacity). But for the weapon racks it does not appear to be always the case and item just randomly disapear.
