Added Note: With the "Acquire the Power on Dionysus" quest item active, the "Show on Map " button and the "Set Course [R]" button become active and clickable, but they don't do anything.
stopquest 000854E8 ; terminates the existing Power from Beyond quest
startquest 000854E8 ; generates a new Power from Beyond quest and POI
I should have an active quest called Power From Beyond to collect a new power because I just picked up another artifact, and before using these commands I DO have that quest, but I can't finish it because the planet Vlad sends me to has no temple waypoint on the planet map.
All these commands seem to do is remove the broken quest from my active quests, meaning I cannot collect the power associated with the recently found artifact. Will probably go to a prior save from a couple hours ago and try using the commands before even picking up the artifact. If that doesn't work, sounds like the patch currently in beta might fix this.
The quest term/reset commands don''t fix the POI issue -- it simply bypasses that specific temple quest. You have to manually give yourself the "missing" powers via console. The two commands above "point" you to the next temple, assuming you have the relevent artifact, and haven't got the POI bug on that planet as well.
I
Reloaded an earlier save, and it is actually returning to Alpha Centauri which kicked off the Power From Beyond quest, not picking up the artifact as I thought. Not saying this is normal or wasn't already a result of bugginess, but that's what was happening.
I tried a couple methods, and what worked was inputting the console commands after picking up the artifact but before returning to Alpha Centauri system. At that point, I did not yet have the Power From Beyond listed in my active quests. When I entered the second half of the commands I DID get Power From Beyond added to my active quests, prompting me to return to AC and talk to Vlad, who finally directed me to a different planet for which I received a Scanner Anomoly marker on the planet map. This is different from what was happening last night, when I was trying the commands after going to Alpha Centauri and already had the active quest. Under those circumstances all it did was prevent Vlad from directing me to the broken planet, or unfortunately anywhere at all.
For those pushing the theory that it has to do with previously visiting the planet/system/whathaveyou, I can only say that the planet for which I now have a Scanner Anomoly marker (Piazzi IV-c) is in a system I have visited but on a planet/moon I have never even scanned much less landed on. This is different from the planet/moon I was previously being directed to but had no Scanner Anomoly marker (Volii Epsilon) which was in a system I had visited and a planet/moon I had scanned but never actually landed on either.
Just FYI, the artifact I was picking up was the one from the Empty Nest quest which introduces Sam Coe. I had 6 powers prior to this quest, which I believe is the correct number despite the powers menu showing 2 undiscovered temples prior to all this which I believe is just a bug also. Initially this all started after picking up the artifact on Volii, where it started prompting me to visit Volii Epsilon, but this persisted along with the specific target planet after reloading a save between collecting these two artifacts; a save which I subsequently deleted. This being my third playthrough (which is the first time I encountered this bug) I chose to put off the main/faction quests and am doing this at lvl 93, so I have a few systems visited already. Going forward I will hard save before picking up any artifacts, and again before returning to AC afterward.
I too downloaded an achievement enabler mod prior to any of this, because in my opinion the idea that this game can even be played without accessing the console is insane, and whoever thought achievements should be disabled for doing so is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥. For the record, I have no other mods installed nor do I plan to.
