Update: After reloading the game after the initial crash I had, the game has been running stable.
Game mode is on. I had one crash from the first four hours of playing, but none since and played much longer sessions.
^This. Disable ANY overlay software like afterburner or discord. They are known to cause CTD's in new games. People need to wait on them getting updated for this title
I actually have a damn good AMD water-cooled rig with a Radeon RX 480 with 24 Gb VRAM and 32 GB RAM with all drivers up to date. The auto-detect said that was only good enough for LOW settings. I tried to go to windowed mode and that seemed to make for a slight improvement for a short time. So with all that going for me, I have no clue as to what is causing soooooo many CTDs. Except maybe for poor Memory management (which IIRC, was a serious problem for both Skyrim and Fallout 4).
I have an AMD performance background monitoring program. I will try to turn this off and see if that's what is interfering.
UPDATE: Turned off all AMD underlays and still had a CTD after about 5 minutes.
But I've seen a few Youtube reviews mention the same thing, the further you progress in the game, the more bugs start showing up.
Akila City is horrible, first time I went there and it would take a good 1-2 minutes to save a game, it looks like it's crashed, thought it was me, the next day same thing happened to my wife when she first went there.
Both of us are using 1TB nvme drives..
I turned off Game Mode and XBox bar, re-installing on 2nd ssd. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the input, Tek.
Ryzen 5600 // 3060ti // 32gig ram // Win 11 - All drivers updated, overlays off, Xbox game garbage off, etc. tried on all settings Low, med, high to no avail.
Rather disappointed atm.
