I was not experiencing crashes but disabling these made my movement a little smoother in cities.

Xbox is off until I want it on. It's been that way for a long time.

Game mode is on. I had one crash from the first four hours of playing, but none since and played much longer sessions.

If your running MSI Afterburner turn it off. This is a culprit of crashes in several games.

^This. Disable ANY overlay software like afterburner or discord. They are known to cause CTD's in new games. People need to wait on them getting updated for this title

I've been having CTDs almost from the get-go. The longest stretch that I had was making through the intro sequence up to where I made my character. After that, anywhere between 2 and 5 minutes to the next CTD. I changed my Settings as suggested and picked up the game from finalizing my character. Only made it to about to go outside to talk to Barrett before a CTD. So no great joy for me.

I actually have a damn good AMD water-cooled rig with a Radeon RX 480 with 24 Gb VRAM and 32 GB RAM with all drivers up to date. The auto-detect said that was only good enough for LOW settings. I tried to go to windowed mode and that seemed to make for a slight improvement for a short time. So with all that going for me, I have no clue as to what is causing soooooo many CTDs. Except maybe for poor Memory management (which IIRC, was a serious problem for both Skyrim and Fallout 4).

I have an AMD performance background monitoring program. I will try to turn this off and see if that's what is interfering.

UPDATE: Turned off all AMD underlays and still had a CTD after about 5 minutes.

The first 20 hours or so the game ran perfectly, but now I get random CTD when fast travelling, funny enough so is my wife, rules out any problems with my 13900k/4090 rig.

But I've seen a few Youtube reviews mention the same thing, the further you progress in the game, the more bugs start showing up.

Akila City is horrible, first time I went there and it would take a good 1-2 minutes to save a game, it looks like it's crashed, thought it was me, the next day same thing happened to my wife when she first went there.
Both of us are using 1TB nvme drives..

Same issue. Multiple CTDs after 27 hours. I think we need a patch.

I turned off Game Mode and XBox bar, re-installing on 2nd ssd. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the input, Tek.

Started playing today and CTD every few minutes, nothing has helped currently. Only get in for a few mins and CTD.

Ryzen 5600 // 3060ti // 32gig ram // Win 11 - All drivers updated, overlays off, Xbox game garbage off, etc. tried on all settings Low, med, high to no avail.

Rather disappointed atm.
