Vertical line down middle of screen

Has anyone else noticed a faint vertical line down the middle of the screen while playing? It looks like a type of tearing. The pixels are shifted slightly in a straight line from top to bottom. I thought it was my monitor but I’m not seeing it with other games.

i mean screen tearing can also happen vertically. and, it has to be something related to the monitors refresh and or cable, as i do not have this issue. granted im not using vsync either. and as far as im aware my monitor is in good shape.

B/c the display is refreshed top to bottom screen tearing due to vsync cannot happen vertically. Tearing is when part of the last frame is still in the buffer while part of the new frame is being put into the buffer. B/c it happens during the blanking signal you get part of 2 buffers. It cannot happen vertically b/c of vsync. Vsync is just ensuring the display is never refreshed during the blanking signal. It waits for the bit to flip and then refreshes.

I do not see the line. All I see is artifacts due to upscaling.

Unless they are messing with drivers, the only reason a GPU would fry is if there was already an existing flaw in its cooling/throttling.

The Solution

Obviously I can't guarantee this will work for everyone but after spending Hours of my life that I wont get back, I believe I found a solution.
Step 1 Go to C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\Starfield.
Step 2 Create a text file and name it StarfieldCustom.ini if you haven't already.
Step 3 Add these lines

 
[Display]
fWideAspectLimit= 

fWideApsectLimit should be the aspect ratio of your display, in the form of a single decimal number. For example 24:10 3840x1600 = 2.4000 So it would be fWideApsectLimit=2.4000
Step 4 Add these lines

[Display]
sSupportedResolutionsList=1280x720, 1366x768, 1440x900, 1600x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 2560x1080, 2560x1440, 2560x1600, 3440x1440, 3840x1600, 3840x2160

You may also add any resolution I forgot to add. Don't forget to save!
Step 5 Open the file "StarfieldPrefs.ini", Set bBorderless=1 and bFull Screen=0
