Missions and side quests need to clearly indicate their location
It would be awesome for all missions (main, faction, side quests, and activities) to indicate their location next to their name on the menu. Some of them do, like the bounties, but most of them don't, so if you have lots of them it becomes troublesome to plan trips efficiently.

I know, if you press B you can open a map with the location of that mission, but when you have 20 activities and the only thing they say is: 'Talk to John', 'Talk to Reed', 'Talk to Kayla', going manually to every single one to do that is not ideal.

The entire quest menu is ♥♥♥♥.
Whoever made it cleary never played games with quests before.

If i enter an area it should not only show the active quest but all other quests that are within that area as well.
Maybe the active quest as gold and all others are blue.

Having to search the quest menu for objectives is just terrible.
Every day i hope for a modder to fix that broken mess.
Becourse cleary the Devs dont know how.

the fact that you can only track 1 quest at a time is absolute BS

and lack of minimap

Yeah as usual the vanilla UX in Bethesda games is a mess and we'll need the modding community to come in and fix it. You would've thought this would have gotten caught during testing when the testers are walking around and some random NPC says stuff as they run past and suddenly they get an activity they have no context for. We also need the inventory to be overhauled, let us organize Aid by food, health, drugs, etc.

Having a light year or some sort of a distance next to each mission would be good if your in a system you can search the closest mission to you

You can actually track all the available quests at the same time. There is an option down below that allows to toggle between “show only the active quest” and “show all quests.” “Show all” is kind of disorienting so I never enable this option.
On the planet map you have empty circles telling you the names of the available quests that are not active.
But I agree, it would be nice to have it like Talk to John (New Atlantis, Commercial district), Talk to Sue (Neon Underbelly) etc. in the log.

But doesnt this work like most games? When you are near other missions they do pop in white.

Some good constructive criticisms in this thread.

No mini map
No optional compass for our player HUD
Inventory system is terrible

And.............................a problem I'm having is in game active side quest objective markers. On my PC "if they're displayed" they're a floating turquoise hexagon in game. If I put the scanner cross hair on them; text pops up and tells me what that objective marker is.

BUT......................about 66% of the time the objective marker for the next stage in a side quest doesn't display. e.g. Side quest is; "Kill the spacers at the abandoned mine".

So I kill 'em. Quest objective changes to "Return to Biologist at Research Outpost".

Only no objective marker for the Biologist is displayed; so I have to either wander about trying to remember what the NPC who gave the side quest to me looks like; oooorrrr.................
shut the game down and restart it (maybe more than once) to get the objective marker actually displayed to show the location of the Biologist within the Research Outpost.

Not game breaking but definitely Ggggggrrrrr!!!!!!! :)

Weird. The next stage always shows on my map. Plus arrows painting to it in the scanner, although of course the arrow just points to my ship if it's on another planet.

the only ones I know of that don't give you location is the Activities which are a small subset of all the missions and quests. At least that has been my experience.
