RTX 3080
AMG Ryzen 7 5800X3d 8-Core Processor 3.4GHz
16GB RAM
Running at 1440 with everything cranked to ultra and the game looks amazing and runs at a consistent 50-60fps.
But in 1440 even with FSR on boy it's a struggle to maintain that 60.
Your 3080 should be doing that at 4k. Not 1440.
Nah I gotta get on the wrong side of 50% to maintain the same performance. Settings still on ultra of course.
But say 1080, FSR off entirely runs completely fine.
There's some overhead going on to where it ain't perfect even with FSR. Ryzen 7600X cranked to 5.3ghz constantly doesn't change anything.
God bless Nvidia and their lack of backwards compatibility.
I have an OC'd i9-9900k, 16GB RAM, and a 3070-Ti, and I play the game on 3440x1440. Initially I had to take the details down to pretty much exactly minimum to not get choppiness in outside areas. Since the DLSS mod and some further adjustments, I'm now using around minimum/medium settings and it runs smoothly enough, it occasionally dips down to 40-50fps but that's just something I have to live with.
But I mean, let's be honest here. The game is nowhere near visually impressive enough to justify this massive performance requirement. By nowhere near I mean there are games out there that look 10x better and run 5x better while doing it. To say nothing about the mouse lags, the huge movement delay in 3:rd person, the wonky animations (especially jumping), to name but a few things. It's been obvious for a while now but Starfield really sealed it in that their Creation Engine seriously can't keep up at all.
My PC may not be ultra-high end, but it's still really good and can run most modern AAA games at high+ details (RTX off) at 80FPS+. Starfield looks like a game from 5-10 years ago, but runs like one 5 years into the future. The optimization is absolutely horrid here.
the minimum requirements for this game is literally 1070 ti
it means they didn't do anything towards adding details and improving any graphics
Better be extra careful OC it, or will wear out sooner than you think. I been hearing few got their hardware fried. Even if you have good cooling system, still can wear it out.
Just need to be patient and see if they can make the game more stable and smoother. Most games that came out normally need adjustment and polish time to time.
I remember playing Skyrim for the firs time, man talk about alot of bugs and performance back then.
Wrong. Works smooth as Butter on my system. 3070 ti
