Yeah I agree

yeah, bookmarks and filters on the starmap are needed (like show systems claimed by a faction, planets with starports/shipyards and stuff)

I had to start a journal in Notion to help me with this - I can never remember what system/planet the main cities are in, or where I dropped an outpost.

But hey, at least inventory in storage is broken out by type this time around!

I'd settle for a basic search function.

Or is there already a basic search function and I just didn't see it?

Outposts show up in the crew menu as long as you have a crew station in them. I build one just for that reason alone, even if its not going to be crewed.

Agreed, a bookmark option should be there given the size and uneasy use of the various map versions

I'll go a step further and say we just need better mapping/marking options all around. This is my one gripe with the game thus far.

So many places to remember and here I am ALT+TABing during the game to write notes in Notepad.

You could just shift-tab and use the notes feature that was added to the Steam overlay. The advantage of that is that you can "pin" the notes that are in the Steam overlay, so that you don't have to shift-tab to see them.

Normally I hate Steam Overlay and keep it disabled but will have to give this a shot. Thanks for the tip!

I used to always play with the overlay disabled entirely in steam settings, but ever since they added the ability to "pin" things so that you can see them while playing the game, I started using it.

You can "pin" the web browser in the overlay as well. So like if you have a game guide or a map from some website...or whatever, that you want to be able to reference while playing, pinning the web browser will show it without needing to shift-tab. You could even use it to stream Netflix in a window while playing if you are playing some game where you have a lot of idle time.

You can also set transparency of things that are pinned, so as not to entirely obscure your view.

The new steam overlay is pretty fantastic, imo.
