Game freezing and audio lag
So first my computer:
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600KF 3.50 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
32 Gig of ram
2x m.2 SSD

So since getting the game while playing it would freeze for a few seconds when first starting combat, talking to npc's and sometimes just walking past npc's that say stuff without needing to start a conversation. Also when starting dialogue the first sentence the npc would speak lags out with their mouths moving but no sound. After about 4 seconds the sound start and they start talking. Sometimes even shooting my gun the sound cuts out and 4 seconds latter you hear the shot.
I have tried everything that I could find on google and youtube such as:
turn off a bunch of settings
change all the setting to low
start steam and the game in admin mode
limit the FPS to 60
change the resolution
Updating graphics drivers
Reinstalling the game

What I have noticed is that when the game freezes and the audio lags that my M.2 SSD will go to 100% in task manager until the freeze or audio lag stops. I have no idea how to fix this and just hope that Bethesda brings out a patch soon.

Owned Sep 4, 2023 @ 3:57am
nope everything else seems normal just the M.2 SSD is going to 100%. The spike lasts until the freezing or audio lag stops.

Same problem and no sign of a fix after 4 days playing, Mist likely refund today.

Same system specs as the OP and same exact issue. I am frustrated beyond measure, when it ISN'T freezing the FPS is butter but its freezing every few seconds when you move or shoot making it unplayable.

One thing you could check is getting GPU Z and look what it tells you on the "Bus Interface"

There are legit some People where the GPU worked on PCIe x2 instead of x16
