Do misc items get broken down for parts?
Sorry to interrupt the pity party with an actual game question but I ask because when I make/do things I'm seeing it say that there are other components that are created. Like rubber when I add 'steel' to a recipe. That has to be items broken down but I don't see a way to see what items contain.

What am I missing?

Items can't be broken down/scrapped. This isn't Fallout.

Yeah pretty much all misc items are just there for the sake of it, to sell to the vendor or to use as props for decoration or just to collect them if you want. You can't break anything down like you could in Fallout 4.

It's all just vendor food tbh. There's no real mechanic for recycling because they want to force people to wander 'planets' (loadable cut-scene tiles) for "resources."

You can't scrap items like in Fallout. Only option you got is to either sell them if they're clogging up your inventory or jettison the cargo if it gets too bad.

There are ALOT of Misc items that are worth a good amount. You can actually sell them for some good money. Up to 16k atm from selling misc things lmao

Sadly there is no recycling. Very odd for a "real" space game IMHO.

Have you even played the game? You can buy most resources for super cheap at most vendors, like it's so cheap it's not even worth walking around collecting resources from planets apart from very rare ones maybe. So it's definitely not that they want to force you to get these resources from planets if you can just buy them for almost nothing in shops.

I didn't know you could buy resources from vendors. I basically just used them to dump weight and moved on. I'm sure that's good information for people still interested in playing this.

I spent around 20 hours in the game and was approved for a refund. Have fun with it.
