Save ship builds as Blueprint
It would be nice to have a function where one could save a ship build as blueprint for future playthroughs. I just finished with rebuilding the Frontier ship, took me 3 hours, but i'm quite happy with the result. It would be cool if i could save the build for another playthrough so that i won't need to spend 3 hours next time too. For builds not to be OP for new games, one could just lock them behind skill requirements that need to be meet if it has items that require them. That way a lvl 10 wouldn't be able to start right away with a full experimental ship.

I concur. Hopefully Bethesda is listening.

I agree, and we've talked about this as well. I've been saving detailed notes on each ship I build or simply upgrade but some type of in-game blueprint system would sure save a lot of time. Something.

Being able to do a NEW build as well.... Instead of having to nuke an already existing ship, to build what you actually want. (really not sure why this wasn't included in the base game, seems like a major oversight to me..... beth HAD to know folks would want to build their own....) But, if beth doesn't get around to it, modders will, once we have the CK.

true, maybe we'll get a way to have new parts follow the original ship's paint scheme too, if its not already in the game.

In the shipbuilder I take multiple view screenshots of ship designs I want to recreate and use the Screenshot Manager to open their disk location, then copy them to a separate folder as references for the new build. When I transitioned to NG+3 I used this method to reconstruct my final NG+2 ship, Indigo Circe, as Indigo Nimue and have flown her for the entire NG+3 playthrough. I recently reconfigured Indigo Nimue along the lines of the experimental build Indigo Morgana and those kinds of shots were absolutely necessary to save time (and fristration!) getting things squared away and shipshape.

Original traditional design:

Nimue's new layout based on the experimental Morgana design:

Having to do the rebuild by memory, well, it just didn't work out well lol, so the screenshots were priceless. Not exactly blueprints but a decent substitute.

These are my screenshot "blueprints" of an unbuilt Class B mitigated damage design starting with the Class A Kfir merchant's ship. If I start a completely new game this design may come in handy as I progress through the Piloting skills, so I'll stash these and a few more references along with other unbuilt concepts I've done over the lifetime of my current character.

What'd be even cooler would be integrating ship design into the story - eg on that mission for Stroud you ought to be able to fire everyone and do it yourself with the end result being the ship you encounter randomly from then on
