Find The Scorpion's Sting... WTF..?

The place is on an island and the water is basically deadly, so how in hell am I supposed to get to it...?

I have looked at 4 youtube vids, and they all show the ship landing ON the island, but I do not.. Selecting either the Landing Zone or the place itself makes no difference as I land in the same spot..

So am I missing something here, or is it just broken...?

I was able to swim to the island, I jetpacked out of the water as much as I could.
