Grav Drive Issues on Starter Ship
Didn't know if anyone else has had this hsppen...

I was upgrading my Frontier, the ship you start with, and I put some new engines, reactor, weapons, fuel tanks and shielded cargo bay on it. No problem...

BUT, if I swap out the grav drive for a longer-ranged, more powerful unit...the ship builder notifies me that I need a more powerful one. What? Yeah, no matter if I pick the most powerful grav drive available for that ship, it tells me I need something better to fly. If I put the old, less powerful original system on it, the ship is fine. I've played around with different modules and watched my mass, but there just doesn't seem to be a way to put an upgraded grav drive for more range on the starter ship.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks!!

If it gives the warning about modules you need to make sure that your reactor is the same rank or higher than anything else attached. A rank is the lowest just fyi. So having an A rank reactor but a B rank warp drive won't work.

I ran into this as well. Frustrating --> I bought the best 'A' gear I could find for the starter ship. Went to several different starports (including the pirate's Key). I had the best A reactor, engines and fuel tanks...everything worked fine until I tried to swap out to a grave drive that was better. Nope. Had to go back to the starter grav drive just to fly the ship I got after the first little battle...
