Legacy's End Quest (UC side) Critical Bug?

There is a faction quest line where you are drafted as a more to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet. At the very end of this very long and often difficult chain of missions, if you choose to side with the UC{/spoiler], you eventually wind up on the Key. Once you kill your way to the boss, you get a prompt to go to the Operations Center.

I get there and there is a mission marker in the middle of the room. I stand on it. Nothing. The guy I need to interact with is upstairs on a balcony, behind bulletproof glass and sealed doors. He won't talk to me. I can't get in to him. There is no trigger when I reach the quest marker. Reloading doesn't help. The game has very few quicksave slots so all of mine are right there, none are at an early point in the mission.

So it looks like I have to junk this entire 26 hours of play and start again? Really?

Hey I have a potential solution albeit annoying. I left the key and returned to my ship. Undocked. Saved and quit to desktop. And then redocked and was able to interact with pirate man boss. Hope that helps

Still nothing, did not work for me…. Took so long to do this and all for nothing, bummer

Try reloading a previous save. That fixes a lot of issues like this. This is not the first quest I have had this problem with. There seems to be a major issue with event triggering in game. There seems to be a lot of potential overlap that causes issues with being able to continue certain missions under certain circumstances. The other things you can try is leaving and coming back or restarting the game. Usually that is enough but not all the time. Sometimes reloading an earlier save is necessary. Make it a habit to hard save when you feel you are at critical points.

That worked. Delgado wasn't behind the glass for me and I could see his marker on the floor above... Thank you

I had to redo the assault on The Key and that time I was able to speak to Delgado through the window. Such a stupid bug, wasted 3 hours trying different things.

I played the mission twice and hit the same bug. This quest is borked

Played the mission thru and never experienced a bug so not everyone has this problem. Unfortunately, my Main Quest bugged and I had to load a previous save that took me all the way back to before I completed the UC questline. Maybe I'll experience it in my next play thru.

I am having the same issue. Final meeting with Delgado won't trigger. Hoping to not have to reload an old save. Oh well. Seems that's the only thing I haven't tried yet. Didn't want to have to go all the way back to Legacy. Save regularly. :P

Follow up.....
To advance the mission when trigger point is messed up....I loaded previous save before Shinya. I chose a different option the the UCSecdef. That made it to where I could complete the mission. A patch will be nice.

I had to manually start the conversation with him by looking at him and pressing E through the glass. Not sure if this is broken in your instance, but that's how it worked for me

This happened to me. did the tip about leaving and undocking, but it didn't work. I ended up using the control console and using the pass through walls command. when I got in the same room as him, he still wouldn't talk so I shot him and got the quest completed by killing him.
