How many helium extractors is needed for one generator?
I have right now a setup of two solar panels giving electricity to run two helium extractors.
The two helium extractors is then trying to fuel two "fueled generators", but the generators seem to eat more helium than what is produced.
I'm now wondering how much helium an extractor produces per cycle, contra how much helium a generator will consume each cycle. Would 3 extractors be enough to run 2 generators, or should I build 2 extractors for each generator?

Anyone done the maths?

Bump. I can't figure this out. It seems the balance is way off. I'm trying to get a small helium and iron harvesting area up and running but it seems so far that in order to power a generator I need at least 3 extractors leaving only 5 power of the 20 left for a gun turret to protect it. Which then means I need another 3 extractors to power another generator to power on an iron extractor which needs another gun because it's so far away but that then means another generator and 3 more extractors to power it. It's utterly absurd. I must be doing something wrong here, surely?

I haven't used generators, but my only suggestion is put down 3 sanitation robots for a stackable 10% bonus to production from each.

Just do like me. Add 5 extractors, then add enough power to have an overhead. Ez :D

2 extractors for 1 genny same rule applies for fabricators 2 extractors for 1 fab to keep running for evah.

For me, 1 extractor makes 0,83 helium per minute. Generator consumes 1 helium every 36 seconds. That is 10 helium per 6 minutes for one generator. One generator can supply 4 extractors. 4 extractors make 3,32 helium per minute but ~2 is eaten in the process. 3 extractors make 2,49 helium per minute. So the answer should be 3. You need 3 extractors just so they work, and 4 if you want to make slow profit. Basically out of those 4, only one makes helium for you.

It's two extractors to one generator:

One extractor makes 5 H3 in 6 minutes, a generator need exactly twice that much (10 H3 per 6 minutes). If you want extra H3, for an iterlink connection e.g. just add more extractors than you've to need to feed your generators.

In order to supply 2 generators with enough helium, I have 2 small and a large refinery running!

3 large storage containers in between
