Load screens are practically instant for me so that sounds odd. Do you meet the required specs? Including a SSD, as is listed?

Starfield IS NOT an open world game, anyone calling it that has no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what that word means and how to apply it.

I cant wait till the modders can get their teeth into this game, going to be a fun time.

Loading screens usually 1-5 seconds. Not really a problem unless you run on a HDD.

Barely a second or two for 90% of the screens perhaps 5 for the larger cities, get a better SSD.

BG3 has longer loading screens and no one is complaining about it.

trolling is when you say something not true , to get some attention.

Well you would know what you said isn't true if you actually played the game.

I have walked HOURS away from my ship, open world or not thats enough for me, and I see a loading screen for like 1 second.

Honestly, you all don't have nothing better to do than troll on forums on every single new game launch?

I have a 2tb Pcie Gen 5 M.2 SSD ..every single game I own loads maps in a second or less.

In Morrowind I have 3-sec loading screens everywhere, and that game is 25 years old.Do you know anything about immersion ?.When I see a buildng with the door, I expect to open tat door and just get it.The same with the flying and landing

So you telling me that after 20 years from now , when TES6 will come out ,you will be super OK with loading screen every where again ?.Even tought all AAA games will get rid off loading screens forever

i'm pretty sure it's more like 90% load screen and 10% gameplay.

Well you clearly didn't because what you said isn't true is there a lot of loading screens yes but there so fast they bairly even take a second it's not 50% of the game not even close by a long shot.

If you design your game to consist of cells within cells and divide everything within with loading screens, it kills the flow of gameplay and immersion pretty effectively. If you generate these sandboxes upon landing, it should be obvious that these sandboxes and towns, should be, very least, dynamic, open and exploring them being very fluid experience for the player.

This kind of game design is not a standard anymore, maybe it was 10-15 years ago, but not anymore.

Lets say you wanna do a simple task, go sell your junk after a simple fetch quest to a vendor and go talk to NPC on another planet, 15 loading screens coming.

"
Exit planet loading screen
Land planet loading screen
Exit ship loading screen
Enter shop loading screen
Exit shop loading screen
Enter ship loading screen
Exit planet loading screen
Land planet loading screen
Exit ship loading screen
Enter building loading screen

Talk to NPC!

Exit building loading screen
Enter ship loading screen
Exit planet loading screen
Land planet loading screen
"

It does not really matter if these loading screens are 1 second or 15 seconds, the fact game throws a black screen in your face nonstop kills the flow pretty effectively.

Well said.Im with you 100%.Many people just forget about immersion , and that its 2023 , not 2011.So many people forgive Bethesda so many.So bad , so sad.Fallout 76 was a good example how many people would forgive Bethesda no matter what they do.The saddest think is that , after 10 years from now, TES6 will also have loading screens every where.Thi is so sad , so bad , because I thought that Starfield will be the first true next gen game from Bethesda with no loading screens.
