It's instanced to help with loading times. Mass Effect did the same thing. It will also help with modding in the future. A seamless experience would have come at a great cost to both accessability and modability. They made a good choice in making it instanced.

because of creation engine i assume... you can explore entire planets but only in smaller chunks at a time. there is a mod that disables the "you cant go that way" boundary warning but the game will eventually crash if you walk past it for too long...

Not a space simulator, a Skyrim type RPG that happens in space, therefore boundaries.

Couldn't you manage to get to this conclusion yourself?

cause its a bethesda rpg not a space sim

There is a custom ini you can make that will remove them, that said, there is truly nothing out there, maybe in the future modders will add more for you to do out there.

A custom ini that removes the instanced planetary boundries? Yeah I doubt it.

Because that is how they build it in their engine. They already mentioned that

The couple planets I have been to, there was ai generated points of interest literally MILES AND MILES away. So far away I thought they were part of the skybox. But I could spend half an hour running over there, and I did. And it was epic. The maps do technically have a boundary, but I have never hit a boundary in my 25 hours so far played. I’m telling you, it’s not an issue. I thought it would be too, but it actually isn’t

After hearing that there are boundaries around landing sites i was initially a little disappointed but after playing the game for some time (around 26 hours) i think its really not an issue. Area around the landing site is pretty large and unless you deliberately set out to reach the boundaries you won't run into them.

Haven't hit a boundary yet and I've been walking and flying endlessly for 38 hours.

I trekked into the middle of nowhere today to deliver something to a girl. As I jogged, I was convinced that the quest must be bugged, or that it wouldn't be possible to reach her location.

Sure enough, there she was, in the middle of nowhere. That's the furthest I've marched in the game to date. And still never hit a boundary.

The game is yuge. No doubt about it.
