Steam level 0 accounts are private accounts. They could have 10 years worth of games, you just dont see it because they are private.

Private profiles also get easily impersonated. I just had such a case recently on an off-topic hub.

I've faced such issues before (as I was fully private til 2016), but Steam allows quite the settings to get your profile public but not fully public. ;)

Also I think there is no need to hide, if you have an honest opinion.

i think i did some of that trading card stuff once when they released it, and if i have gotten any levels since then it must have been on accident.

You either buy trading cards to level up or play until you have enough to level up. I chose to pay.

Account age, games purchased, giving and receiving awards, and participating in events.

Look at your completed badges, all those are forms of steam exp.

Yes they do. That's how you tell the account has been made private - they have level 0 and nothing displays (except bans, which always show regardless of whether they are private or not)
