Mantis Quest *Some Spoilers*

[Vash The Stampede]

There's an Optional part of this quest to "Learn more about the lair of the Mantis" I've been running around looking for something I might of missed. Anyone been able to complete this part?

Ya that tells me what I already know how to do. I'm talking about an optional flag in the quest and how to complete that optional portion.

I just did the quest. You need to find all the notes and logs. Looks like i found 7 4 Leon and 3 Lair named notes and on a few doors there is a voice message to activate one o the first ones in the base and right after the first robots. look by the doors for a white and yellow little speaker

Had the same issue, was missing something to complete the optional part of the quest, and the intercom was it. I missed one.

I went back and found the last log I had missed. It was the one right at the start. Didn't change anything in terms of the quest

This was my problem as well. Almost to the ship, an open door slightly blocks an intercom, I went over it thrice to find the damn thing

Oh.. just another note. Crazy mother neglects son his whole life. In an act of love she invites him to take over the mantis mantle. He gets there and is quickly dispatched by other pirates. What is it about her son that she thinks he's willing or capable to take her place?

Also, don't the audio logs indicate that he was dead before the pirates arrived? There's a log of him gasping and groaning while he complains (rightfully) about the turrets, calling the whole ordeal a "sick joke" (or something like that), so I was under the impression that the turret mortally wounded him before the pirates arrived. They just found his body.

Also, based on other logs, it seems like she was training her son his entire life, but was cryptic about it, so he was just getting a bunch of nonsense lessons he didn't take to heart. She assumed he was prepared to take on the defenses in he lair, because she raised him to be, but he clearly wasn't.

Anyway, last time I played the quest some months ago, the audio logs were actually bugged for me, so the log closes to the entrance actually played a mid-dungeon log, rather than the proper arrival one.

Yeah, he was dead before the pirates, left a slate saying in a blood-bubbling voice "Turrets, mom? Really?"
