Awful bugs as expected "Alternating currents" quest help in this post
We all knew this game was gonna be a buggy pile of crap lol so on the "Alternating currents" quest... the 45a fuse box toward the end... i clicked it and the audio of the quest progressed to the next part but the blue icons and in mission quest did not progress. Looking for a work around thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue, mine is bugged on the surface saying "Computer is needed to open this panel".

Yeah, it's a key you don't have. But next to that door is a puzzle. There are four switches, each switch turns 2 lights on/off. There are also four light (initially all off).
You have to find a combination on those switches to turn all lights on, then the door opens.

That may be why people are having a problem with that quest. There's also another door that needs to be opened by clicking on a control panel. None of them have quest markers and there aren't any hints or prompts from the NPC.
I only found them because I have a habit of moving the cursor along the walls and floors looking for a caption or message. Learned that from dungeon hopping in other Bethesda games without a torch, because small items like lockpicks or dark colored alchemy ingredients are hard to see. The same with finding kills in vegetation like tall grass or bushes without detect dead

That's definitely a problem and bug.. but the bug I'm having happens after all that. I did all the lights and the last box AFTER that puzzle. If I remember right.. the quest after that starts in the main area of the city (based on audio only as my quest is bugged). But in the quest log the last 2 quests (puzzle box and last box) are not checked off as done. It seems this quest has MULTIPLE bugs. Been how many days since release and they released a patch with 3 quest fixes lmao. Sad and pathetic.

all you gotta do is go to the fusebox outside and click and turn in quest... wasn't bugged. I was a little confused at first because I went outside at the wrong place and got a little turned around.

I have literally done it a couple times to because I had an early save where I start from to try different early game things.

The quest worked fine for me as well, but you do have to the tech to get it to continue.

I don't like that quest., So I do what I always do in every game which has a annoying quest. I don't do it. Thankfully it is just a optional one. If it was important, then I would find the quest ID and use the console.

I did that every single time I did the DiMA mini puzzle quest in Fallout 4. Over 2 dozen runs I have did in that game.

I know this is not a solution for many. I do hope you get it solved OP.

Yeah that would be great if i could do that. Doesn't let me. Every time i go there to do it the quest (markers) are sending me back inside to click on the 2 i already did. It even lets you turn the last one off and on again but doesn't advance the quest. There is probably a situation where the icons still stay on the old objectives but the actual quest (like literal mission text quest) advances on its own.. so then it allows you to actually manually find the next part (without quest guide) to do it. I guess I could try and trigger what you are talking about but it's absolutely bugged. The quest progress is repeating and stalling on a loop of 2 objectives that were ALREADY done. You can say you found a workaround to the bug.. which you probably did.. or you never got the bug that I described. We aren't getting confused or turned around, the quest literally won't progress. Just because it was normal in your game does not mean it's not bugged.

did you leave it off? i am pretty sure that is what is causing people issues, i left it on the first time and it didnt update the location for the residental district, but i turned it back off again and it worked.

oooo yeah lol multiple times. I tried a bunch of different combos. The whole point of the post was to get workarounds and some people actually had some ideas or situations where it worked for them. I'm currently holding off playing until a patch but if i do happen to log on to the game i might just head back there and try some stuff. Oh well, it is a side quest after all.

I'm having the bugs where I've activated 47b and I still have a quest marker on it and the athena tower one outside the tower with the this requires a computer notice
dsatfire 23 SEP 2023 a las 1:19 p. m.
mine's bugged I went up to the residential district and the breaker just says 'Opens with computer' or something like that. It won't let me flip the switch and there is still a quest icon of the breaker before they tell me to go up.
I also had the bug where the freestar missions don't show up after being sent to neon, but an update fixed that. So I'm hoping this will get fixed too. Though I'm likely going to finish the game again before that so maybe it doesn't matter.

Hi I did that puzzle, yes, the 4 panels to get the lights all on, and open the door. You have to do that to even get it to proceed to the surface to get that panel on the outside of the convenience store...to access the apartment.
