Alien DNA question

Anyone else not receiving any health from food? I know this nerfs gains but I can eat 100 kilos of food and not gain a single HP despite the food saying it restores X amount.

Food for HP recovery is sorta ridiculously underpowered as is and useless. Honestly if i had known how bad it was I would have grabbed some Alien DNA because it's just not good enough to bother using for health

I have that trait as well and still see my HP going up. There;s definitely the price being paid, though!

Works for me, though the amount is really low. You really do need to eat a mountain of food to get any health from it.

If you like you can visit a doctor and get the trait removed though (kinda pricey, might be easier to restart if your still early in game).

Thanks for the replies gents. I found the doc that can remove it but I was hoping for maybe a cool story quest related to the trait. Now I am wishing I got the house with the friggin mortgage. This not healing so great thing is somewhat a big drawback and imo a little bit too much.

God mode? If so I do not want to cheese the game. Do console commands disable achievements? Might be able to see if I can remove the trait via it, or just bite the bullet and get rid of the damn thing. You can make so much money boarding ships and selling contraband that it is really not a huge hit.

Console commands do in fact disable achievements. Though there is already a mod for that. (PC only obviously).

The only trait I took was the creepy fan one. Free crew member and his quips are not that tiring.
