Fixed My Audio+Visual Stutters the most annoying way possible.
PC Specs (Just so it's clear where I'm coming from):
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
- CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz
- RAM: 16gbs
- Installation location: SSD
- Resolution: 1080p

Other Specs
- Average FPS: On all Low, around 55-60 FPS running around some streets of New Atlantis. At worst it went to around 45 at one of the subway areas. On all Medium, around 45 FPS doing the same running around everywhere.
- Mods: "Starfield Upscaler - Replacing FSR2 with DLSS or XeSS" the Reshade Version, and the associated installs required to make this mod work. Got on Nexusmods.

Problem:
- Audio+Visual stuttering periodically (~every minute). Can cause a desync in dialogue interactions. Happens randomly, or when entering dialogue and sometimes when leaving the menu tab.

Solution:
- Uninstalled Starfield (the same application that was pre-loaded before launch and unpacked August 31st) and reinstalled the game back on SSD.

Thoughts:
- Maybe preloading and unpacking the game was the problem all along? Really annoying to think about after scratching my head over it for the past 2 days.
- I need to play test more to see if its *really* fixed. I only just figured out stutters were gone after running around New Atlantis for 5 minutes. It should've triggered stutters if the issues were still ongoing. I'm confident it's all gone now and it wasn't just a blissful lapse in copium.
- Can't tell if the mod really did anything for performance, personally. It at least helped with viewing my current FPS to see how that fluctuates. I don't think modding will ever fix anything as bad as a performance issue like frequent stuttering. I just did it to see if it helps anyways.
- The fact that the issues resolved compelled me to share my experience here. Hopefully it helps anyone else out there having similar issues! :steamhappy:

What resolution are you trying to run at? 1080p, 2k, 4k? I'd probably ditch the reshade version to begin with on a 2070.

It does say "Additional Notes: SSD Required" in the minimum requirements, so I guess they mean what they write. I had it installed on a HDD and had all the same problems as you, but on my SSD it doesn't stutter. The only problem I have now is my GPU. It's a old and tired 1060 6gb that gets max 45 fps on lowest settings while looking directly at a wall.

1080p. And yeah I probably don't need the reshade version of the mod.
