point of 'misc' items

So does anyone know what the point of picking up 'misc' items is other than selling? There's so many of them, and I can't seem to find a definitive answer whether there is/will be scrapping of items(like Fallout 4).

Haven't found a purpose for them yet. I only pick up the ones that sell for 100+ credits and I'll drop those if I hit my weight limit during a quest.

Should be similar to skyrim's.

Vendor trash or as decorations in your own base/ship/home.

It's an RPG. It's filler items to make the world look alive? Imagine playing Skyrim or the like and walking into someones house and seeing no decorations or placement of "misc" items. Plates, forks, the cauldron over the fire. Going into the castles and imagine no dining hall with table sets, or books etc

Yeah but they all have value. They could've made it just so you could move them around(hold E) but unable to do anything else with them.

Digipicks are placed into misc. Those at least have a use!

in one of the fallouts there was the junk cannon that would use it for ammo.

i dont mind the junk myself i just wish our scanner had some sort of filter setting or colored junk a differently

yea so dang annoying.. - way to easy to mess up and sell them by accident.

as others said above - rest is just vendor trash or decorations.

Oh and just wait till you start modding ships.. deleting parts and stuff.

and find your self with 800ish weight worth of spoons, pens, notebooks,some others worth 5-10 credits.. oh and food/drinks and such.

even aid can get too cluttered - but at least they are stuff you can you so would make way more sense. and yea lock item out be GREAT!
