Locked Conversation Bug/Broken

During a quest, anyone I talk to just trails off, no options in further conversation, anyone i talk to just has no dialog, game is locked in convo, can't leave, can't tab, can't escape, Alt+F4 only way out.

Game is essentially locked now about ~6hrs in. :/ Tried multiple restarts, reloading, verify game etc. Nothing....... It's completely stopped my play through. Back to X4 pr BG3 i guess till we get some bug fixes.

you can alt tab and when you go back to the game it should put you at the menu and you can revert to a different save, I'm having the bug right now and oh boy its the third game breaking one. my solution to one other one was to force complete with console commands so im off to try for this one.

The same bug crippled my play through. I tried different console commands but nothing could resolve it. I can no longer progress so just like you said, I'll have to stop playing now.... sigh

Same issue but it happened when I hailed a ship. now whenever i go into my ship im stuck permanently in a blank conversation and cannot do anything.

you can use console to kill said npc and hope that they are essential

Same Problem, even old save did not help. Loaded an older one anyways, but didn't start the quest again

This happened to me as well, talking to Vladimir in The Eye. I loaded the autosave from when I entered The Eye, picked a different response in the dialogue, and that seemed to fix the problem. Don't know if I was just lucky or what. From what I could see, no standings changed when I picked a different answer.

same problem as well - it happens to some npc merchants and that one mission wish sarah talking to walter about expenses to repair the eye.

EmertriusDeo yep happened to me with Sara and Walter. I thought they were done talking, but the conversation pulls you back in. What I did was control-alt-delete. Task manager forced the game to go to pause screen, and I just loaded the auto save where I entered the lodge.

Bump, I can get out of conversations via console commands, but now any conversation locks up when I select any choice

I had this bug but when I left the game idling for a while the NPC (Lynn in my case) did her ilde convo thing "hey, say something" and then I was able to select options again

People find the solution !! The problem is that we are expected to be accompanied, and in my case, I was alone. The only thing I had to do is go with Sarah accompanying me, and when I spoke to the npc (load a previous game) Sarah intervened in the talk twice, so, apparently, the npc was waiting for that event.

My problem is the same but different. had two followers from new atlantis and when i started recruiting other people they disappeared from my ship and back to the bar on new atlantis but i cant interact with them.
