Lag spikes when swapping or equipping weapons

It was all smooth and well until i booted up my game today.
I noticed that no matter what i was having these game freezing moments only when changing weapons.

I tried restarting the game, restarting my pc and checking if i could update my drivers. Nothing worked.

Anybody else having the same issue or knows a way to fix it? Thanks

I have the same issue - figured it's because I increased my weight capacity and had too much junk in my inventory

I got this issue recently, and my play style is such that I am always far far far over my weight capacity, didnt use to have the issue.

Yeah I've had this, and it happens when pulling out the scanner too. It seems to pop up randomly, haven't figured out what causes it yet.

I noticed this as well, ran some tests. The stutter only happens with guns that have rarity. Higher the rarity, the worse it gets. Also noticed that my gpu usage % spikes down then back up whenever I switch to those guns. No idea how to fix.

Yep, same is happening to me. Seems the higher the rarity the more frame drops. I can swap from low rarity weapons with absolutely zero drops.

I'm having the same problem, but I'm afraid it's not caused by the equipment weight exceeding the maximum weight capacity but by the overall weight of the equipment. I have 201/280 of inventory weight and freezes occur with every weapon change

Try switching your graphics to minimum, then to whatever they were before.

confirmed that the lag spike only happened when switching to higher rariry weapons. Basic weapons have 0 lag when switching

Happening to me too, very annoying. I am on the xbox gamepass pc version so its not a steam issue.

its happening when you have too many ammo packs with a high amount. try it again after dropping a bit of ammo

I just tested this, I put all my ammo into my ship, then went outside. Same lag spike when swapping between weapons of high rarity.
