I'm hoping you are joking tbh.

I didn't see that in any footage yet so I was worried that was the case, like trying to find a decent landing spot for a bigger base or something was what I was hoping for.

Well yes Mr. Todd Howard a game on the theme of space without being able to simulate a landing with his ship, it's very disappointing. Why boast of countless planets if they are accessible with the click of a mouse An RPG without ambition that is not up to what it would be possible to do in 2023

correct... you sit and watch an animation. that hides another loading screen. and again you dont take off or fly your ship off of the planet you watch another animation and wait for the loading. in fact you dont even need to be on your ship to take off much of the time. you can just fasttravel lol.. that massive universe just got alot smaller.

From what I have seen its you fast travel to planets and fly in the space far above the planet no where near orbit and can board ships near by and if there is any that's where you would do ship battles as well, if you want to land on the planet you pop up the map press and hold "X" to land and goes to cut scene of you landing that's it sadly, no flying on the planet at all, all the flying i have seen are about the planets in a very small map with invisible walls in all directions.

I'll be honest, my heart sank when I got into orbit and was instructed to fly to another planet and realised I couldn't actually fly there, its like glorified map hopping. But that aside, its a very good game.

You are correct.

in orbit? you are actually flying in a sky box ... that planet is just a picture outside the sky box ... however long you fly towards it you will never reach it , you cant ... the only way is too hit the loading screen , oh i mean the landing button..

Thats why I said "no where near orbit" you can see the planet miles away but can't get any closer, either way thought that was clear, but were all clear that this is not a space game since there is like 0 flying

True. They cut so many corners on this game. It's a point and click, fast travel and loading screen simulator with some generic sci-fi pew-pew tacked on. That doesn't make it a bad game, just an overpriced, overhyped one.

lol. Have you ever played even a quasi-realistic travel space game? They're boring as hell.

But if you want to try flyng everywhere, try flying from space-station to another in Elite:Dangerous when you have to jump 50 systems. It's SO DULL I HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP AT THE GAME WHILE FLYING MY SHIP. For a game I have over 350 hours in, I've barely accomplished anything thanks to the long, boring, sleep-inducing travel mode.

You think you want it... I'm pretty sure you don't, at least not the reality of it. Fast travel takes the travel tedium out of a game that will take close 1000 hours to 100%, You want to ad 3000+ hours of travel time that ED would add?

It's not a space simulator. It's a CRPG in space.

They should have made the flight portion like Evochron games.

So what? I can't waste time so that's ""gg bad design"?

Agree with this. As good a game as ED, is the time spent travelling is just bonkers.
