Below 30 with a 2080 Super? Buyer beware
I don't necessarily have a problem with the game itself, but performance wise this game is a disaster, I had to refund because I just couldn't play it.
By the way, if anyone was curious everything was set on normal and resolution was 2k with the dynamic option checked.

Edit: A few closing words and then I'm not going to reply to this Discussion anymore because I'll be wasting too much of my time and yours:

1.I don't have a negative bias towards this game.
2.I did bought it and then refunded it.
3.Yes this could be a case by case scenario that would not necessarily apply to all 2080S users, that's just my experience.
4.Yes the 2080S is quite old at this point, but the Steam page literally put it in the recommended section so I thought I would be upfront and warn potential buyers of the (at least mine) possible subpar performance this card can achieve in this game.
5.Why would I even lie to you? If the game was flawless and played great out of the box why would I even be here wasting time in the Steam discussions arguing with people?

If you had a good experience with this game without a top-of-the-line card, great, I'm happy for you, but I didn't.

Dont defend yourself Noon. You are right man. I got a R7 7800X3D ( upgraded from a i7 8700K ) specially for this game and went towards 32DDR5 RAM bought the fastest gaming Nvme 2 Tb ( 850x ) but left my GPU alone a RTX 2080Ti because the game's system requirements said that was recommended.

i got a 1440p Gsync monitor 240hz.

This game performance with my rig is to cry.. 30-40 fps..

Im going to upgrade to a RTX 4090 to brute force this game and hopefully one day a lot of performance patches will come out so people dont need to brute force fps.

The RTX 2080 ( Ti ) is a beast of a card still going strong in 2023 for a lot of games ( without Ray Tracing that is..)

but i think its time to move on to other games and another GPU untill this game has been patched towards version 2.0 like Cyberpunk.

https://www.pcgamer.com/starfield-no-dlss-support-at-launch/

Obviously they had an exclusive agreement with AMD on release and did nothing for Nvidia Users...

another way is use benchmark program like 3D Mark, Userbenchmark
then check the result with similar setup, see if there is anything strange with the result

if you see cheap GPU on market below market price high chance it's fake

What a bunch of clowns here in this discussion. The 2080 super isnt ancient, also more like a 3060 ti performance wise. The fact people running 20 series and 30 series gpus cannot run this game properly is because of optimization only. 1080 medium 60 fps should be the goal for like, a 2060 non super or something. Not a 2080. Stop believing into false ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from people with 4090's running at 1440p. (No ♥♥♥♥ that they have around 100 fps on ultra) I have one myself and are for sure not playing this crap until its sorted out and a patch has been released. Stop defending bethesda, the game has visuals from 2017 (hence the fact it was going to release in like 2017-2018, also clearly to see if you realise this game doesnt support raytracing, like all <2017 games) so it shouldnt have such a massive performance penalty with 2018 hardware. 2017 visuals, with 2025 performance requirements. Nice. Cope harder.

It doesn't make any sense to assess game performance without mentioning what CPU one is using. Simply stating GPU does not matter. You can have the best GPU in the world but if you couple it with a three generations old CPU Starfield will run like crap. That's just how time moves on.
