Can you leave your seat in space?

Yeah. Just hold E. Found this out by accident when trying to use missiles in combat.

Yes - you can stand up in the cockpit (default holding "e" on keyboard)

E is not working, after targeting a ship with E it will just target a new or hail that ship..

You can get up from cockpit in space but I have not figured out how to 'spacewalk' yet out of your ship in space

Absolutely possible, because I stood up about 10 times while trying to loot the debris of the pirates you destroy right after the flight tutorial.

Hey I found a way to reliably get out of the cockpit on pc. If you first focus on a location or planet while flying you can hold E to get up because there's no hail action available. If you don't focus on a location then it will just keep focusing on the nearest ship

Yes now park your ship in saturn orbit and add a view window in your ship

It works, but it doesn't always works. I just stood up a few times with no issue. Now the game will not let me do it again. And as other said, if you have anything targeted, you can't untarget to stand up.. annoying as hell..

Holding E is technically the solution, but you can't have anything targeted and there is no way to untarget at the moment. Unfortunate.

Holding E is the same as hitting E. It just selects a target. For some reason I can only get up when I'm docked or landed.

Hitting ESC will untarget stuff.
