Low FPS RTX 4090
I'm gonna start off by saying this is a beautiful game and I just LOVE it! :steamhappy:
However, I'm struggling with the fps.

Now I'm used to being able to generally run games at the highest settings at 144+, but when exploring a random planet, I get like 60-80 fps.

As far as I know, there haven't been an update in the GeForce Experience app (yet), but I was still expecting higher stable fps.

I did turn down the settings from ultra to high, didn't really see any improvements regarding the performance.

1920x1080
RTX 4090
Ryzen 9 5900X
32gb RAM.

Does anyone here know some things I can try to improve the fps?

Thanks in advance!

Yea Same. 47fps in the first Main city and the game does not even use the full resources that is provided to it. (My GPU sits at 74% and the CPU is doing barely anything.)
I guess the only thing we can do it wait and hope for a patch or modders to fix it (as always).

i can tell you haven't played for long. if you're only moaning about the garbage FPS. wait till the Dumps to desktop start kicking in ...
4090 is outdated by now. Starfield is actually the next "crysis" and is meant to be played on future tech. Bethesda are very forward thinking devs.

it seems you are not alone considering some reviewers mentioned that even on their 13700 and 13900k paired with a 4090, they couldn't maintain 60fps in some scenes with fsr turned on

i think the game is lock at 60 FPS max someone said it on youtube so you can lock your GPU at 60 fps for more stability

A DLSS Bandage is not a fix for underlying engine problems. Devs should work on optimising their games and not just go "HuR duR FRaME genERaTiON".

4090, my screen is 60 fps max, so I don't know exactly how much fps my computer generates.
All I can say is that I never went under 60fps after maybe 15 hours of game, at 4K ultra.

Maybe you have a CPU issue? or software?

I have the same setup as you. I can run at 4k Ultra no FSR and don't really go lower than 70 fps. If you bump up your resolution using DSR( If you only have a 1080 monitor) do you get the same FPS. then its mostly the MAX fps for our CPU combo. So basicly CPU limited but I must say most of the time my GPU is sitting at 99% usage.
