Omg, same setup as you. my husband and I been searching everywhere to solve this issue. Sadly no luck so far.

Starfield does not rely much on CPU, I have an AMD 3700X (almost 4 year old CPU) and the game runs perfectly on my end. I also have 32 GB of RAM but a the RTX 4080 is doing the heavy lifting.

Your card is unfortunately the bottleneck in what you have given. Try overclocking and follow a Starfield graphic optimization guide.

I am on an RTX3070 8GB VRAM, i9, 32 GB Ram computer and I have a steady 60 fps on high settings. VSYNC on, motion blur and depth of field turned off. I crashed once, when trying to enter the game the first time, but since then nothing. Only the normal Bethesda easter eggs lol

You are heavily cpu limited and experiencing similar fps as 9900k. 7800x3d would double your fps. So no.

@OP Could you give us your definition of "unplayable"?

That card is not able to deliver steady 60 fps at fulld hd and 100% resolution scale on high.

please stop spreading misinformation when you are obviously clueless. this game is cpu limited and tech reviews confirm that.

i have i9 9900K it's impossible to be bottleneck with that CPU i wait the 6 september to play the game but with an i9 just impossible your settup is just bad setting

Not the OP but since they haven't replied yet and I have similar specs, a spec down on GPU, generation above with the cpu, I'm getting 25fps MAXIMUM at minimum settings 720p; incredibly stuttery when turning( Installed on m.2, not a hard drive issue )

Gonna have to keep an eye on posts like these since i am running on a 9900k + 5700 XT. Hopefully after a few months of patches, this game will optimized enough to be playable on my rig.

I don't know if OP has this issue. but ours, when launching app, the window appears and it remains black for a few seconds before returning back to the desktop. No error message or anything. We reinstalled several times. drivers are up-date, validated files. It just refuses to work at this point. and we have 2 RTX 2080 Super 64GB Ram.

Thanks for you replying then - it's hard to discuss / figure out what's going on without details.

RE your infos: really odd - must somehow be connected to the 2060. I've a weaker CPU (i7 9700K) and I get 25-40fps with mostly 30 fps (e.g. in New Atlantis) in 4K UHD (medium-ish settings with DLSS mod).

But yeah, even going lower in settings doesn't change those fps - so there is something fishy.

edit: my settings including DLSS mod pop-up https://ibb.co/NLrSqwb
