Why do people think $70 is too much?
I thought $70 is pretty much industry standard these days. I’ve paid more for very short, very linear PlayStation exclusives. This game is huge and possibly offers hundreds of hours of gameplay. A two hour visit to the movies for two people with snacks almost costs as much in my country lol.

Honestly if you look way back into the early 90's video games were all $60 or more at times. With inflation on everything in life you have to expect games to also increase.

If you want my two cents, it's because I know that if I put $70 down on this game, I'm going to get the usual Bethesda offering: an unfinished product, that they will put in the hands of volunteer modders to complete for them. If you haven't learned that pattern from their last 3 games, then I don't know what to tell you, friend.

"An NES game in 1990 cost, on average, about $50. That's $89 in 2013 money. Your $70 N64 cartridges in 1998 would require the equivalent of $100 today. Heck, the $50 PlayStation 2 game you bought in 2005 is worth $60, the exact price of a typical retail game in 2013."
for this game even 30 is too much they false advertised it

But I enjoy Bethesda games the most of all. I will happily spend money on something I enjoy even if it’s not perfect. Baldurs Gate 3 was pretty perfect according to some people here, but I thought that game was a snooze fest.

soon enough, games will be $120.00 USD / 17000 YEN for everyone lol
just like PSN, they raised their prices very significantly a few days ago.

70 dollar gaming, i dont think many can afford it.

That's totally fair, and I respect your decision. I'm in no way trying to say that my perception is the only way, I was merely responding to the question based around my personal preference.

and people said the same back in 2005 when games went from 50 to 60.. same whining, same tantrums, a few years later everyone accepted 60 as the norm, and today people whine and cry saying it should be 60 not 70.
people are legit clowns.

So... you realy compare a digital copy and a game sold on cartridge/disc (expenses for
production of all copies + sending them to retailers + covering expenses of retailers who needed physical stores to sell physical copies and people to work in that stores)?:steamfacepalm:

The price of games did not go up. The value of your dollar went down. Welcome to taxation without representation. It's going to get worse.

Well, modern games are way more complicated than NES games and involve astronomically higher costs and people to make. Also inflation.

70$ is fine for AAA titles.
And yes, overtime it definetly will increase even more.

People seem to forget games have basically always cost around $60, at least in my lifetime they have. While literally everything else in life has gone up drastically. A McDouble used to be $1 now it's like $2.75.
