It's not even remotely Fallout in space, it's worse than those titles in many regards.
Starfield isn't awful, but it isn't great either.
The game is OK. It's functional and entertaining. I'm going to finish it. But it's not the experience that it was hyped up to be by any stretch. It feels like a mix of Skyrim and Fallout 4 with a sci-fi theme. Graphics feel last gen. Can tell it was in development for a long time.
To my complete amazement Starfield is not the usual Bethesda bug-infested shambles at launch. Optimisation for Nvidia GPU users isn't what it could be but so far (I'm 6 hours in) there have been no major bugs. Just my personal view but I'm enjoying both ship and fps combat. You can always play for 2 hours and request a refund if it isn't fun for you.
I'd recommend ignoring the likes of IGN, it's been years since they were of any relevance at all.
I mean they gave Diablo 4 a 9.
It isn't that enthralling either. It has it's moments, but those are dabbled about by long stretches of nothing in a sea of nothing.
