How do i make money?

I need a new ship but theyre expensive so whats the best way of getting money? Should i sell my mining resources or will i need them later?

Im on xbox, i bought it on ms store so i could conceivably install it on pc too but not sure about progression transfering

Pickpocketing is okay. A decent amount of shopkeepers and questgivers are very easy to loot and have like 800 credits. It adds up after a while.
