Xbox Controller Not Working

I'm having a problem getting my controller to work in this game. It's enabled but only the keyboard and mouse is working. No problem with other games.

Try removing and then putting it back into usb slot while in-game. I had it twice, fixed it for me.

My controller is a bluetooth Xbox controller. I tried disconnecting and pairing. Still not working.

Is playing wired an option?

Did you enable controller thru steam? alot of times steam has to be enabled even if game supports controllers. I am using ps5 controller with no issue

I am using a wireless xbox controller and it is working fine for me at the moment. What controller profile are you using? I am using the default Starfield profile. I think the first time I booted it up it was in keyboard/mouse mode, but I just had to hit the dpad to get the controller to start working. I do normally start steam first, turn on the controller, and then start Starfield. I hope this helps.

My Xbox controller was working in Starfield yesterday, but not today. Works in other Steam games though

Same. Right joystick failure over and over after like 15 minutes in game. Working in every other game. Really frustrating. Full Steam control and no Steam overlay. Really needs a fix.

My i put a usb cable on my xbox Bluetooth controller so it's on a wire and it works. I have had problems with the blue tooth piece in Steam, so I have mine cabled, and it worked when i was trying to play in between load screens.

I used the usb cable for the controller and it worked. I then disconnected the cable and turned on the bluetooth and now that's working. 🤷
