Body Types Are Strange

I'm all for self expression.

But, isn't it weird that I can't express myself as I am? In Starfield, Elden Ring, and other modern games where I get to pick a gender, I want to also be able to pick what I am, not what Body Type I am.

If I put "straight" as tag to start a Twitch stream, I get a warning that I am using an invalid tag. Yet "gay" or "lesbian" or "bi" are all allowed tags. Why is straight not allowed? Why are the body types that I normally associate with not allowed in modern video games?

I'm here to try and bridge some understanding. My ultimate question:

Why can't we have choices to be male, female, body type 1, and body type 2?

Better yet, why can't we be given a body that can be formed as we see fit, and then just type what we want to be called? It seems there are ways to make everyone happy, without erasing anybody at all.

While I see the trend, I also think, Body Type 1 and Body Type 2 doesn't cater to anybody. So if a person who is trans identifies as non-binary, then these body types make just as little sense as someone who identifies as male or female.

I don't see catering to anybody. I see erasure. They are catering to nobody.

I guess that seems to be another trend. Still, I don't see the point in creating perfectly photo-realistic depictions of people and then using language that nobody outside of gaming uses on a daily basis to describe what is seen on screen.

I mean, I have no problem with anybody being anybody! I found it to be a slap in the face that I can't put my sexual preference in Twitch but anybody else can. Feels like something forced, but I don't stream anymore, so it's a non-issue.

They're also trying to eliminate males and females by calling us CIS. Welcome to the world we live in. But trust me, they are actually the minority. Take a look at the likes to dislikes ratios on woke youtube videos. Dislikes far outweigh the likes.

In fact, take a look right here on steam forums. All the anti woke posts are showered with rewards. People are sick of it.

There is a great backlash coming for all the woke morons and they're going to be sorry they pushed so hard for so long.

Quite literally, Volition games got closed down yesterday after that Saints Row 2022 disaster. A studio with 30 years of history got killed, because they had to obey some diversity hires ruining it from the inside. Ah, I don't have a problem with the root-word "cis." It's an old Latin root, meaning "on this side." It's completely benign to me, and I have no problem identifying as cis when the conversation requires it. Yet, there are people that attempt to use it hurtfully, I understand that and am not naive.

All they've done is allow the body type, gait, and pronouns to vary independently if the player wants to do that. It doesn't stop you from picking all three in a way that's typical of a given gender.

My current PC is typically masculine in all three, and I'm role playing him as a man.

The game hasn't stopped me from picking that. All it's done is give me the ability to pick other options if I wanted to.

Why are you guys so mad about games giving players more options for character customisation?
