PC randomly rebooting, any help?
My PC temps are fine, fans are fine.

I have never had this issue with anything before and only happens with Starfield, I might get 10 min, or an hour then PC reboots. I can play all my other games just fine.

I have the following.
Nvidia RTX3070
i7-12700K
32GB RAM

I notice other posts with no answers from other people. Do you think its a bug with the current patch? Most posts are like, oh you have faulty RAM your CPU is over heating, you have a bad powersupply.....

but my PC works fine with games that require twice the power and resources.

Is your CPU overclocked by any chance?

30 series cards have particularly bad transient power spikes and this game is unoptimized as ♥♥♥♥.

Below video explains it.

If your PC doesn't hang (unresponsive power and reset buttons during crashes) your PSU is fine, just reset the PC.

They need to come up with a patch and Nvidia needs to release actual drivers for this game lol.

Video below explains the issue.

A full reboot usually comes from the CPU or the PSU getting stressed over the threshhold in my experience.. and since the game rarely pushes my 9900K over 60% I doubt it would tax yours at all. So, maybe the PSU? What kinda one do you have?

I dont remember, but its 3 years old and runs games like Star Citizen, BG3 and such just fine.

This has never happened before and hasnt happened to anything else other than Starfield.

literally just experience my game straight up shutting down during the simulation for the Vanguard. at least now I know it's an issue with the game and not my hardware.

Ah that's okay. Try this: Open the game and set all the graphics settings to low and see if it crashes or not. I just want to find out if the GPU is taxing your PSU too much or not.

Everything is low, that AMD stuff is turned off, its very random when it happens. It could be 15 min or an hour or 3 min..... In space on a planet or in a cutscene. Even forced Nvidia to be at 55 fps

Min restarted as well and im just updating it...weird AF. Never happened before.

I played yesterday for hours no crash, today I tried FSR2 and I got a crash so I guess I'll turn it off now and see if it crashes.

Oh damn..

I was trying to come up with a workaround for you until a hotfix is released.

You can try these maybe:
- Try turning Game Mode on or off
- Run the game in Admin mode
- Run DDU and reinstall the GPU drivers from scratch
- Make sure all drivers/bios are up to date
- Make sure that RivaTuner is not running (I saw some people who had crashes when it was on)
- Double check if anything is overclocked and if so, turn things back to default.
