Reason to pick up junk?
I've played a couple hours, and am trying to figure out if there is a worthwhile reason to pick up junk like in Fallout 4 and 76. Is there a way to scrap or a use beyond selling to traders or hording?

did not used the crafting system, but due to your low skill inventar in the beginning I would say no.

I wouldn't do it until you get an outpost and can break it all down, you can also have your npcs do all that for you when you get the outposts. but you'll need some, not all junk items for crafting

If you like a game with no story like Elden Ring, but with terrible combat, terrible animations, lots of bugs, poor performance, etc. then...

Really, a 65/100 from me: it was an attempt, but it was quantity over quality -- there was no substance.

Jedi Survivor was restricted, had bugs, etc. BUT at least it had a story. At least you can tell the devs there had SOMEONE that cared about what they were doing.

Yet here, there is nothing. It's soulless...that's what's wrong with Starfield and it was what was wrong a year ago+.

Thanks, that means I can do my OCD, no item gets left behind gameplay! Can't wait to get back in the game and start exploring more.

Nobody asked for your opinion on the game. Go farm jesters elsewhere. Thank you.

Can anyone confirm this by any chance yet?

No point in getting junk. I would just keep an eye out for components to snatch. Even then its not super necessary as you can buy them easily enough.
I've picked up Glass Bottles, bits of tape and random debris, and I haven't played the game yet

grab the junk + sell the junk = credits

Gosh, after reading the forum I was thinking this was a "Should I buy this game?" kind of thread.
the answer is simple: only use of junk is for cosmetic. otherwise dont collect them unless you have horrible hoarding disorder.
selling junk only give 1$ for 1 junk usually. only very little junk have high value. also there is no scraping ingame
