Freight Fright heat leeches

I ran into an issue where I don't know what to do. On the quest "freight fright" it says to exterminate the heat leeches. I ran around the ship several times on both the inside and outside, I can't figure out how to get to the quest marker.

I read that there is a PC update fixing something with them not being marked as "killed".

Is there any way for me to complete the quest? Or do I need to wait for a console update push?
