Constant mini-freezes
I have constant mini-freezes, about every 1-3 minutes my game freezes for about 3-5 seconds, sometimes a bit longer and sometimes the music stops or when I fire a gun I hear the shooting like it's a rave.
I tested it on low graphics and every possible setting, still the same.

Anyone else have this or maybe a solution?

I had the same problem, went away when I bought an external SSD and put the game on that.

This kinda seems to be a video driver problem. AMD updated their driver specifically for Starfield earlier this week, so it might be worthwhile to check Nvidia. Intel Arc cards have had the worst problems.
To be clear, I have not had this problem nearly 4 hours in, using an AMD card.
SATA ssds could be problematic too, as they're a lot slower than the m.2. Supposedly, PCIE 4 m.2 ssds are twice as fast as PCIE 3 ones, so SATA ones are pokey..

Anything above 75% stutters and freezes. Hope this helps
I tried both the freezing remains.

I've had it happen a couple times, mostly near shores. Not often, but enough this topic reminded me.

I’m having the same, running on 4090 suprimX , installed on a NVMe 990PRO.
Best of everything basically. And still those mini freezes every few seconds. I didn’t get them first 40h but now it’s constant

Nah I got the fastest storage there is and I have this problem.

Getting it same here, cant understand why. When it doesnt freeze, i run the game smooth with high fps on 4k. but it just freezes every other minute. quite annoying.

NObody should be running this in 4k with high frames. Thats your issue. Most likely overheating your cpu or gpu so its clocking down causing freezes.

Same. On the SSD, I can set everything high or low, which makes no difference. It hangs for 1 - 2 seconds every 2 - 3 minutes. Music will flicker out and in. And now it has started crashing (on low settings). Prior, it was on my HDD, and would only hang at certain events (like the first pirate encounter), and never crashed. Sadly, I am leaning toward a refund if I can't find a fix soon.

::Update:: So, after some digging into my system I find that it wasn't built to the specifications I asked for. 8GB, not 16GB RAM. I got another 8GB and installed it last night. All settings to low I ran at 52.7 FPS from start to finishing the pirates (and some side ore mining). My GPU is a 4 y/o RX 580. Ryzen 5 3600. So I can only imagine what I could do with a better GPU.

I had this problem when I play XCOM 2, after few research, deleting all the old saved files fixed the issue

This solved it for me thanks Flaminski!

I had 120 save files I deleted 100 of them and haven’t had a single freeze since. 🔥

Freeze solution (during the game it produces 30 FPS and freezes for 4 seconds at 0 FPS every 2-3 minutes). Appears on weak CPUs.
1. Update the drivers for the Nvidia graphics card.
2. Install the game on the SSD.
3. Download BES – Battle Encoder Shirasé - software that monitors CPU usage for each process. In BES, select the Starfield process and set the CPU limit to -7%.

It Fixed my freezes! (point 3)

My freezing stops at -5..
But i wouldn't consider a Core i5 7500 3.4ghz to be weak.. I plan on updating soon anyway..

I have a i9-13900k (best Intel cpu) and I was having freezes all the time.

⚠️SOLUTION: was deleting older save games, I had too many, freezes went away immediately,

Same here. Just got the game (I5 6500, 64 GB Ram, RTX 3060; installed on SSD) and it runs smoothly except for constant audio glitching/dropouts and sporadic mini freezes despite running a decent 30-40ish frames on mostly high settings changing to medium settings didn’t help. I installed a new graphics card driver I’ve yet to test but i see this is a widespread issue. Hopefully there will be an update this week…

They probably did it on purpose to for upgrades.. Its something AAA companies would do. They are in bed with the tech companies after all.

BES didn’t fix it for me but what I might do is a fresh installation and move from my SSD to M2 to see if there’s a difference. If not I’ll try BES on a fresh install.

Having said that, this will be like all the others that launch like this, it will need multiple patch’s for PC versions due to the different hardware combinations.

You look at Cyberpunk, for many it’s only just now becoming something worth playing.
