Hmmm... I'm also on mint and you have a better gpu than me. I'm using a ryzen 7 3700x for my cpu, and I have 24 gigs of ram. Not sure what might be the issue for you. Wish I could help, man

In your steam library, go to the properties of Proton Experimental, then go to the Betas tab, select the bleeding edge beta. It apparently has some starfield fixes for amd

Works fine with experimental if you have an amd card and a up to date mesa if not git compiled.

Works fine for me out of the box. Im using proton experimental. Try update your system. Your drivers. Delete your proton prefix for the game and regenerate it again.

After updating mesa, changing to bleeding edge beta and deleting prefix the game started finally working. Thank you.

i'm running the current version of mint and it hangs after starting a new game at the loading screen no matter what version of proton i use, but it runs on my steam deck without problem
