Are you guys able to beat the 3 Va'ruun ships ?

On that mission where you're supposed to sneakily approach a satellite to extract data, you can also engage combat with Va'ruun ships. I play on hard difficulty and get almost instantly vaporized. Even switching to Easy, I can just take one down before I get destroyed.

Has anyone beat them?

i beat them with 3 autocannons and 2 lasers, but i've opt'd to have the lowest about of grav for higher shields, and i started as a bounty hunter so i can start with piloting and target control systems which is now level 3 and it's easy to take out engines of those 3 guys since lock on times are quick and slow down time now when i'm locked on.

also taskmaster is huge, 50% chance for free ship repairs by crew members during fight for 50% more credits on hire was worth it

go for the shields first then just target the engines

yeah and the flag ship will send out more level 25's too. it is a really tough fight even with a tier C ship and advance modules
