Console commands still required to progress
....and some either don't work, or will break the game.

When doing the pirate quest line, you'll come across a prison area. There is an optional objective behind a jail cell, which requires a computer elsewhere to unlock it. This cell did not open for me despite finding all relevant consoles. Found out that the `unlock` console command will claim to unlock doors, but fails to actually do so. (Tested on multiple other doors after.)

In that same mission, the boss fell through the floor and warped to an entirely different map. The only way to get out was via 'player.movetoquesttarget`, which left my ship in an inaccessible location. Repeating the same command until I could get to a dock or airlock seemed to show that the ship will not automatically follow the player unless it's specifically scripted to as part of a quest event. I now need to reload to before the boss fight.

Side note, console commands also disable achievements.

I was having the same problem and here is what I did: open console, click on the door you want to unlock, mouse wheel until the item selected says "DOOR", then use the unlock console command.

Did you make shure that you have the door ID after clicking on it and not a ID from an object or a wall/floor nearby?

Yep.

In my game, I can't select the doors. Clicking on them doesn't give me an ID to run the unlock code on.

After you click, scroll your mousewheel until you get the right item.

Been through this mission 11 times and it’s worked properly every time. I don’t use mods though, so a lot of people use mods and then blame the game for something not working. I will say though, the first couple times I thought I got every possible control switch but I kept missing the right one. It’s near the cafeteria I think.

Yep. This is a bug that was fixed within the first week or two of patches.

Weird. Ive done this 6 times and havent had this happen. Only quest that was stuck was the robot that needed to fight the xeno weapon but it ended up moving on a reload.
