Verification, PC restarting and reinstalling didn't help.
Very frustrating.
Second thing is shut off any cloud garbage you're using to sync that directory. Shut it off and leave it off forever.
Third is pray that, if this is really a bug in the game, it gets fixed.
Not seeing the issue here.
Check your antivirus settings.
they are in folder
Documents\My Games\Starfield\Saves
check your antivirus log? might be blocking the game
have windows one drive running? turn it off or if you need it, add exceptions for the game Documents folder
check windows security/controlled folder access? if on, add exceptions for the game
neither steam nor the game installer nor the game make any changes to windows security
was able to create my first save after waking up after touching the relic. maybe you have not gotten that far?
I guess (but i could be wrong) the main issue with the path to Documents folder not even in backuping itself. It should not contain /OneDrive/ as part of path. I don't even disabled OneDrive, just removed folder form sync list, it will delete all the data inside (so backup it before) and removed this folder backup from cloud (just in case)
also seems like there is other fixes look in here (i didn't try this): https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/3824173464657559824/
