Auto-run outpaces NPCs, and walking is way slower than them. But they constantly ask you to walk alongside NPCs.
It's baffling.
But no, there's not easy .ini.
It's a very simple mod (Or very complex depending on how much you want to do with it) to make though.
Right, but the problem is that the walking speed is to slow so when you're walking next to another character you're either running ahead of them or they are walking faster then you so you have to run to catch up.
While we're on the subject, the default speed is to fast a run. Should be a slow jog, not a run (and not using the sprint animation).
Now what tha does is slow down all speeds by 30%, so now walking is out of the question but auto run is a slow jog. The sprint speed will be afected but i find that it is still realistic.
Someone will surely make a mod to speed up the run animation and slow down autorun but till then this will at least help.
You can fool around with the speedmult number as it is a % base. But i tried a lot of combination and 70% is what i am playing with now.
That literally makes no sense because this topic is about wanting to move slower than the normal run speed, but faster than the walk speed. It's like you read the title and commented on that without even knowing what's being talked about.
This doesn't work at all in the console. Is there something else that needs to be enabled first?
player.setav speedmult 120 gets your walking speed to match the NPC. It increases your speed by 20% but doesn't seem to feel like it breaks anything. I'm not sure if there's a way to change all NPC speeds instead which is what I'd prefer but meh.
The default 'value' is 100?
In a few of the gun fights I have had, when using ads, I peak around and "lean" from cover at times. I could be wrong and just mistaken with another game as I have pretty much started doing a lot of things that don't require shooting.
As for the setav option, I don't know if it breaks anything yet as I am not fully immersed in the skills and don't know if it will break future level-ups. We need more time with the game.
EDIT (after another 8 hours once my shift was over 01 Sept 2023)
After deciding to just goof off and start killing everyone around the MAST in New Atlantis, Yeah, there is no leaning. However, with the way Bethesda decided to design the gunplay in this game, it isn't needed. I found plenty of spaces to keep enough cover and be protected. And again. This isn't a shooter. Emphasis is not on a robust Shooter/FPS experience like Modern Warfare, Call of Duty or any other shooter. It is also not a space flight simulator. So far, the different systems brought together have made an enjoyable and playable game. Learn to temper your expectations and you will enjoy games more. Starfield is showing to be a VERY competent game as it stands.
