First of all what is this sound? -> It is a super high frequenzy sound, above 14-16khz. I hear these sounds quite often while watching tv or if I pressure my grafics card and get "coil whine".
(Funny sidenote: My partner can not hear it. Even If i turn up the sound volume to the max. So it might be, that this issue is not hearable by the broad audience... and thus not likely to get changed by Bethesda.)
There is an open source Equalizer programm called "Equalizer APO 1.3" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EtgwIajVqs&t=70s for a video von LTT )
--> How To:
1: Download "Equalizer APO 1.3" (e.g. the link provided under the LTT video)
2: Install it for your audio output device (for me it was simply speaker)
3: Restart
4: open the "C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\Editor.exe"
(5:) Test if it works by setting the "Preamplification" to +20db, play a youtube video and toggel it on and off. The sound should drop noticably.
(6:) Troubleshoot if 5. is not working. -> Google it... for me installing the troubleshoot option for my speakers did the trick.
7: Set the 16khz Point on the Graphic Equalizer to -40db
8: Test if you still hear the scanner high pitch sound
9: Adjust the EQ more to your liking. (For me just 16khz to -40db was enough)
Happy Gaming, Friends
Thank you, this worked for me, and was pretty easy to do.
Thanks a million for informing us about such an excellent program!
